361 Sold Ary Bitter, The Sleeping Faun Rare and large bronze Sculpture Circa 1925

Magnificent Art Deco Sculpture from Circa 1925 by Ary Bitter (1883-1973). This majestic and large piece is very striking and depicts a sleeping faun, near his bagpipes, arousing a young deer's curiosity. The inspiration for the piece' with no doubt, is a homage to the famous symphony by Debussy "prelude to the afternoon of a faun".
Silver Plated Bronze and incised 'Ary Bitter', on a more recent pupose made base. This is a truly magnificant Bronze, very rare and superbly cast. This bronze has resided in The South of France for many decades and will be soon in the front window of my gallery at 60 Francis Street where it will draw many admiring glances from all passing by. I was fortunate to locate it as there are not too many of these in the World.
